European Youth Week 2017

The seventh edition of European Youth Week (EYW2017) will be celebrated across Europe during the two week period from 27 April to 10 May 2017. EYW2017 will consist of a broad range of events and activities organised in all 33 countries participating in the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, with the coordination and organisation of events entrusted to the Erasmus+ National Agencies for youth.

The theme of the EYW2015 is Unlocking young people’s potential as a key to participation, in working life and in society with a focus on the key issue of embracing diversity through youth participation. This emphasises the importance of empowering young people to engage and be active in all aspects of society, as a way to promote a thriving democracy and to foster young people’s inclusion, including in work.

The European Union Programmes Agency in collaboration with Agenzija Zghazagh is organising a number of events as a platform to discuss the opportunities available for young people, how skills can be gained through active participation in the Maltese society and lead to new opportunities for further studies and the job market. The activities shall be a great occasion for those who have had experience with EU projects to share their experience with other young people and further explore the possibilities of cooperation towards new proposals for projects with the aim of empowering young people.

The platform shall focus on these four themes:

  • Original ways of increasing young people’s job opportunities;
  • Entrepreneurial Ideas to improve the lives of young people;
  • Activating participation of young people in civic life;
  • Engaging young Europeans in Development issues
